Gravitas inflation / evenness of register

Plain English: Every moment made to sound profound; nothing allowed to be plain or throwaway. Produces a flat, uniformly "important" tone — one of the deepest tells, because real prose breathes between high and low.

Fix: Let ordinary moments stay ordinary. Earn the lyrical beat with surrounding plainness. Vary the pitch, not just the sentence length.
