Plain English: A scoring grid — the explicit criteria something is judged against, with weights. "By the rubric" = measured against agreed standards, not vibes.

In this project: Each book is scored on a rubric weighted to fit its blueprint (rubric ≈ blueprint) — character, story-mechanics, place-magnetism, reader-experience, emotional-impact.
