DRAFT. A compendium of real African journeys, grouped by the roads that carried them — Sani Pass, the Skeleton Coast, the Cape-to-Cairo corridor, the Tanzam Highway, the Nile road north. Cyclists, hikers, motorcyclists and overlanders crossing the same ground at four different speeds: Riaan Manser's circumnavigation, Mario Rigby's walk, Kingsley Holgate's outline expeditions, and the 2015 record chain in which one man's Cairo-to-Cape record stood for ten weeks.
